Son Heung-min has insisted that he never considered moving to Saudi Arabia this summer as he still feels he has a lot more to accomplish in the Premier League.

It was reported by ESPN last month that Al-Ittihad were readying a bid of €60m (£51.26m) plus bonuses to lure Son away from Tottenham.

The publication claimed that the Saudi club were willing to offer the forward a four-year contract worth €30m (£25.7m) per season and were optimistic about snapping him up.

However, the report made it clear that Tottenham had no intention of listening to offers for Son, and the speculation over the 30-year-old’s future has since died down.

The South Korean has now remarked that he never considered leaving Spurs this summer, admitting that playing in the Premier League has always been a dream of his.

Heung-min Son is keen to bounce back at Tottenham

The Tottenham man added that he is keen to prove himself on the back of his struggles last season.

When asked about offers from Saudi Arabia, Son told Football.London: “Probably if I wanted to go there I would be out there, not here. (Laughs) I love playing football, obviously, money is also important.

“I dream of playing in the Premier League and still a lot of things to do. I’m looking forward to it this season and obviously, especially last season when I suffered physically.

“So this is not Sonny that I know. I want to prove this season that I’m the Sonny that we all know. I want to prove that to myself and I want to give back to the club where I belong.

“Saudi obviously most people are going at the moment which is really, really interesting but it’s a dream for me to play in the Premier League and I’m looking forward to this season.”

Son sounds like he is extremely motivated to prove his critics wrong and get back to his best for the upcoming season.

That bodes really well for Postecoglou and Spurs as the 30-year-old is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Premier League when he is fit and firing.
