Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen believes Uli Hoeness’ claims about Harry Kane’s future were true but hinted that the 71-year-old was wrong to say it to the press.
It was widely reported last week that Dreesen held a meeting with Daniel Levy in London but no direct offer was thought to have been submitted (The Athletic’s David Ornstein).

Since then, German sources have seemingly grown in confidence that a deal for Kane would go through, with Florian Plettenberg even insisting over the weekend that some at Bayern expect the Tottenham man to arrive at Allianz Arena within the next two or three weeks.
The Bundesliga club’s honorary president Uli Hoeness also made headlines on Sunday when he said that Spurs would eventually buckle and soften their stance on their star striker (Sport 1 via Sky Sports).
He also added that if Kane stays true to his word, he would be a Bayern player before the end of the transfer window.
Bayern do not seem to condone Hoeness comments
When asked about Hoeness’ statement, Dreesen has now said (via Fabrizio Romano): “It’s no secret that we’re very interested in Kane. Everything Uli Hoeness said is correct.
“But it’s best for us to stick with what Thomas Tuchel said. The grass doesn’t grow faster when you pull it.”
Spurs Web Opinion
The last line from Dreesen clearly indicates that he and the Bayern hierarchy are not happy that what Hoeness said publicly as it is certainly not going to help speed up the operation.
I suspect that Dreesen might have even apologised to Levy on the back of Hoeness’ statement as Bayern would not want to risk getting on the Spurs chairman’s nerve and making the transfer even more complicated.
