The Independent have claimed that should Harry Kane depart Tottenham this summer, the North London club would look to reshape their attack rather than directly replacing the striker.
The report states that Tottenham are now on the lookout for alternative options up front, given the uncertainty over Kane’s future.
It is explained that some at Spurs believe that it would be ‘virtually impossible’ to find a direct replacement for the England captain, which is why the plan is to reshape the team’s forward line in the event of the 29-year-old’s departure.
Spurs will reshape the attack if Harry Kane leaves
Flamengo’s prolific forward Pedro is said to be one of the names on Tottenham’s radar while the Lilywhites are also said to be looking at Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund, although it is said that it might be too late for Spurs to move for the Dane, given Manchester United’s advances.
Over the last week, the likes of Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic (SportMediaSet), Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani (RMC Sport) and even Brentford’s Ivan Toney (Football Transfers) have all been mooted as potential replacements for Kane.

Kane is the best centre-forward in world football. So, replacing him directly is not on the cards.
However, having said that, there is no reason why his goals cannot be split among our other forwards as long as we can bring in another 15-goal forward, who can press high up the pitch.
It is also clear that Kane is not an ideal fit for Postecoglou’s style of play as pressing is not one of his strengths.
It was also noticeable in the second half against West Ham how Richarlison’s ability to run in behind forced the Hammers back and gave more space for our midfielders to operate.
So, Kane’s departure is certainly not all doom and gloom. In fact, one can argue that Postecoglou could build a more balanced side, which is suited to his approach, as long as we use the funds from the striker’s sale wisely.
