CalcioMercato have claimed that Giovani Lo Celso’s proposed move to Napoli could gather steam over the coming days if the Serie A side are able to meet the ‘right conditions’ for the transfer.
On Sunday, we relayed an update from Gianluca Di Marzio, who claimed that Napoli have reached out to Tottenham regarding the availability of Lo Celso.

The report alleged that the Italian side saw the Argentine as an ideal fit for manager Rudi Garcia as he can play as one of the three midfielders in a 4-3-3 while also being able to operate behind the striker in a 4-2-3-1.
TuttoMercatoWeb subsequently revealed on Monday that last season’s Scudetto winners are willing to offer €15m (£13m) for the Spurs star while the Premier League side are demanding closer to €25m (£21.6m) for the player.
Other complications in the Lo Celso deal for Spurs
If CalcioMercatao’s latest update is to be believed, there might also be other complications in the proposed transfer, with Napoli said to prefer to sign the midfielder on an initial loan deal with an option to buy while Tottenham favour a permanent sale.
The publication also suggests that the Italian side might have trouble matching the over €4m (£3.4m) per season that Lo Celso currently earns at Spurs.
However, the report adds that should Napoli manage to satisfy the ‘conditions’, the 27-year-old’s move to Diego Armando Maradona Stadium could soon accelerate.

I wonder if Lo Celso’s outstanding second-half display against West Ham would perhaps cause Postecoglou to reconsider his stance on the Argentine.
The former Real Betis man seems to possess all the attributes needed to thrive in the number eight role in the Australian’s system, and I can see the Spurs head coach hanging on to the midfielder if he is ready to stay and fight for his place.
