L’Equipe have claimed that Real Madrid are now the frontrunners to secure the services of reported Tottenham target Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe has just 12 months left on his contract at Paris Saint-Germain, with the Ligue 1 giants reportedly trying to offload him this summer.

It was Marca who first reported on Saturday that Tottenham are one of the clubs to have expressed an interest in the pacy superstar, alongside Manchester United, Chelsea, Al-Hilal, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

Real Madrid now in pole position to sign Mbappe

L’Equipe have now also backed up Spurs’ interest in Mbappe, naming the North Londoners as one of seven clubs who are keen on snapping up the 24-year-old.

The report adds that PSG are also currently in talks with Barcelona, with the Catalan giants allegedly willing to offer several players to the Parisians in a swap exchange deal for the France international.

Meanwhile, the publication also reveals that Al-Hilal are now readying an eye-watering €300m (£259.2m) offer for Mbappe, but it is asserted that Los Blancos are the ‘huge favourites’ to land the forward at the moment.

Spurs Web Opinion

Mbappe was never going to be a realistic target for Spurs but the fact that two reliable outlets in Marca and L’Equipe have both named the North London club means that they likely did test the waters.

So even though we will not get Mballe, our interest in the Frenchman perhaps suggests that Levy and co are prepared to make a big move to replace Kane if the England captain departs this summer.
