Football broadcaster Ben Jacobs has revealed that Bayern Munich are now expected to launch a third offer for Harry Kane after seeing their first two bids swiftly returned by Tottenham.
Jacobs has reported that Bayern’s third offer for Harry Kane is expected to be worth close a €100m (£86.4m) as a total package.
However, the journalist explains that the Bavarian club have not been quoted any particular figure by Daniel Levy as of yet, with the Spurs chairman still hoping that his star striker signs a new deal with the club.
Jacobs suggests that Bayern believe that Kane wants to make a switch to the Allianz Arena and that Levy would prefer to sell the player to a non-English club.
He adds that while Paris Saint-Germain also like the England captain, sources close to the striker have ‘downplayed’ his interest in joining the Ligue 1 giants.
Bayern Munich to make £86.4m bid for Harry Kane
Manchester United have not yet returned for Kane after being left with the impression that it would take an ‘astronomical offer’ for Spurs to consider selling the player to another Premier League side.
He wrote on Twitter: “Bayern will make a third bid for Harry Kane. Total package expected to be close to €100m. Bayern have not to date been given a price by Daniel Levy, who is still hoping Kane signs a new deal with Spurs.
“PSG do like Kane and he has been discussed, but sources close to Kane downplay his interest in joining. Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Levy do have an excellent relationship, though.
“Bayern believe Kane wants them (Uli Hoeneß already said this) and that Levy prefers to sell to a non-English club should Kane depart this summer.
“#MUFC haven’t returned for Kane to date having felt he would not be sold to a Premier League club, at least not unless an astronomical offer was tabled. They explored the deal and had low optimism anything was possible. They are currently only watching the saga unfold from afar.”
Spurs Web Opinion
It is quite clear by now that Kane is going to end up completing a move to Bayern this summer. However, it remains to be seen what price Levy would deem acceptable for the 29-year-old.
There is a decent chance that the Spurs chairman would hold out for £100m from the German club but at the same time, he would be aware of the need to sort out the striker’s situation quickly so that Ange Postecoglou can plan for the season ahead.
