Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is growing increasingly frustrated by the ongoing uncertainty regarding Harry Kane’s future.

While Postecoglou has taken on his biggest role to date and clearly relishes the challenge of managing a Premier League club like Tottenham, the Australian would probably have preferred not to spend the first couple of months of his tenure fielding questions about Harry Kane.

Tottenham Hotspur’s star man is into the final 12 months of his contract, and as such the club find themselves in a difficult situation.

They could sell Kane this year for a decent price, or lose him for nothing next summer, neither of which is a particularly appealing option.

It is believed Spurs are trying to combat this issue by putting together a new deal for Kane which would see his weekly wage increase to £400,000 a week (Telegraph).

However, it seems Kane may have already made up his mind, with reports suggesting Bayern Munich will return with a fresh bid imminently.

The Bundesliga champions are thought to be confident of wrapping up the deal by early next month (Football Insider).

Postecoglou wants Kane situation resolved

Things may well be coming to a head soon if the latest report from the Telegraph is to be believed, as Spurs owner Joe Lewis has made it clear that Kane must be sold this summer if he will not sign a new contract.

The report also suggests Postecoglou wants the situation put to bed, one way or another, as the speculation takes its toll on his preparations for the new season.

The 57-year-old is now becoming “increasingly frustrated” by the ongoing discussions over Kane’s future and has “urged” Tottenham to get the matter “resolved.”

Postecoglou has even said he is “not relaxed” about the whole predicament.

Coming into this situation is not ideal for a new manager, and while losing Kane would be a blow, Postecoglou would be far better off if he just knew what the end result was going to be.

Kane needs to either commit or go as soon as possible so we can sign a replacement and get ready for the season ahead.
