According to Yahoo Sport, several players are expected to arrive through the door at Hotspur Way during the final month of the transfer window.

Spurs made a swift start to the transfer window, addressing some key weaknesses by securing the services of up Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Solomon.

However, things went quiet at the North London club for a while after that early business, with some supporters becoming quite frustrated at the club’s inability to strengthen at centre-back.

It now appears like things are finally starting to change, with Spurs soon expected to complete the signings of Micky van de Ven and Alejo Veliz, while Ashley Phillips was officially announced today.

Busy final month is expected at Hotspur Way

Yahoo Sport have now also stated that Spurs have stepped up their efforts to sign central defenders, with the club also still in talks for Edmond Tapsoba

The outlet adds that amidst the uncertainty of Harry Kane’s future, Tottenham are ‘eager’ to make a number of new signings before the transfer window slams shut on August 2.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is quite clear that the reason Tottenham temporarily suspended their transfer business over the last few weeks was due to the uncertainty surrounding the Kane situation.

The fact that Spurs now seem to be moving swiftly towards their targets over the last few days suggests that there was some sort of breakthrough in talks between the club and Bayern over the England captain on Monday.

Much like the Bale sale to Real Madrid in 2013, I expect Tottenham to first bring a number of players through the door before Kane’s sale to Bayern is announced.

If clubs knew that Spurs had received a big cash influx for the 30-year-old, the Lilywhites will be quoted inflated prices for their targets.
