Heung-min Son has taken to social media to post a classy message to his former Tottenham Hotspur team-mate Harry Kane.
Tottenham accepted an offer from Bayern Munich for the club record goalscorer on Thursday and despite some twists and turns, the deal finally did get over the line where at one time it looked as if he could remain in North London after Sky Sports claimed he was leaning towards seeing out the last year of his contract.
Kane travelled to Germany on Friday for a medical and the Bundesliga champions confirmed on Saturday he had signed a deal lasting until June 2027 and would wear the No 9 shirt.
The pair formed a formidable partnership at Tottenham which saw them write their names in the Premier League record books when they combined during the 4-0 win at Leeds United in February 2022 to take their goal combination tally to 37, eclipsing Chelsea’s Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard.
Further combinations have since seen them extend their record to 47, but will not reach the half-century mark with Kane now plying his trade in Germany.
Heung-min Son thanks Harry Kane in goodbye message
Son wrote on Instagram: “Leader, brother, legend. Since day one it has been a joy to play by your side. So many memories, amazing games and incredible goals together.
“Harry, thank you for everything you have given to me, to our club, and to our fans. Wish you nothing but the best in your new chapter. Good luck brother”

Kane and Son’s partnership was brilliant, with the England captain typically dropping deep for his team-mate to run in behind with lethal effect. Hopefully, Son can now forge an understanding with James Maddison, with the former Leicester man known for his creativity and the South Korean likely to operate in more of a central role.
