According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Leeds United have removed reported Tottenham target Wilfried Gnonto from first-team training as speculation over his future mounts this summer.
Leeds United snapped up Wilfried Gnonto from Swiss side FC Zurich a year ago in a deal worth £3.8m (Daily Mail). The Italian youngster was mightily impressive for the Yorkshire side, as he contributed four goals in all competitions last term (Transfermarkt).
His efforts were not enough to prevent Leeds from being relegated however, and with the club now competing in the Championship, it seems Gnonto is looking to make his way back to the Premier League as soon as possible.
A report from LondonWorld recently suggested Tottenham could be looking to offer Gnonto the chance to remain in the top flight, with Leeds thought to have placed a valuation of £20m on the 19-year-old. It is also said that Everton are still leading the race to sign the Italian.
Wilfried Gnonto is training alone amid Spurs links
Things appear to be getting pretty heated now when it comes to this situation. The Daily Mail reported this week that Gnonto had refused to play for Leeds in their Carabao Cup tie with Shrewsbury and also missed the league game against Birmingham as a result.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has an update, as he shared Leeds coach Daniel Farke’s comments on Twitter.
Romano tweeted: “Leeds coach Farke: ‘Wilfred Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra are all training separately and are not involved in the dressing room.’ Farke confirms that Sinisterra had a release clause into his contract to be checked legally; no clause for Gnonto.”

Spurs Web Opinion
I’m not a big fan of players who refuse to play just because they want a move. You should respect the club that you signed for and do your job until the time comes that you get a transfer away.
Gnonto has bags of talent, but I would be very wary of him joining our squad, with what appears to be a bit of a bad attitude.
