According to the print edition of Corriere della Sera (23/08/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), the options for Romelu Lukaku are now quickly closing, with a move to Tottenham no longer appearing to be on the cards.
Recently, several Italian outlets have discussed the possibility of Lukaku heading to Tottenham, with TuttoMercatoWeb even claiming earlier this week that the North London club could explore a loan move for the Belgian in the final days of the transfer window.
However, it was subsequently suggested by Football Insider a couple of days ago that Spurs will not consider an approach for the Chelsea man unless moves for all of their priority targets fail to materialise.

Door now closing for Lukaku to Tottenham
Corriere della Sera have now played down the chances of Lukaku heading to Tottenham by stating that the Spurs option now ‘seems like a dead end’ for the centre-forward.
The report adds that the 30-year-old has already rejected the chance to move to Saudi Arabia while AS Roma cannot afford his wages or Chelsea’s €40m (£34.2m) asking price.
The outlet adds that Juventus now seem to be the only realistic destination for Lukaku but there is no indication that a move to the Allianz Stadium is going to happen at the moment.
Spurs Web Opinion
With Chelsea struggling to find a buyer for Lukaku, they might be forced to listen to late loan offers for him. So, I wonder if Tottenham will test the Blues’ resolve by making a late bid for the Belgian if Gent do not show any inclination to lower their asking price for Gift Orban.
