Fabrizio Romano has reported that Tottenham’s potential loan deal with Real Sociedad regarding Sergio Reguilon has collapsed, and Arsenal have swooped to send Kieran Tierney there instead.
It has been widely reported over the last couple of weeks that Spurs are prioritising moving players on to make space for potential new signings, with Reguilon being one of several players who is expected to depart the club (Evening Standard).
A couple of days ago, Ben Jacobs said on the Last Word on Spurs podcast (starting at 49:40) that the Spaniard is expected to seal a move to Sociedad before the transfer deadline.
The journalist stated that the Spanish side viewed the Tottenham man as a ‘high priority’ and added that there was a ‘high likelihood’ the 26-year-old would head to the Reale Arena on a season-long loan deal.

Sociedad set to sign Tierney instead of Reguilon
However, Reguilon’s move to Sociedad is now dead in the water as Sky Sports Football Daily have reported that the La Liga side are on set to sign another left-back in the form of Tierney.
The outlet claimed that La Real have struck a deal with Arsenal to sign the Scott on a season-long loan deal. Fabrizio Romano then confirmed that Spurs’ Reguilon exit had collapsed.

This takes Tottenham back to square one in their efforts to find a new club for the Spaniard. However, a couple of other La Liga sides would surely be willing to take a punt on the Spurs star on loan over the coming days.
