Monday’s print edition of Corriere Torino (as relayed by Sport Witness) has claimed that Juventus might be put off by Tottenham’s asking price for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in January.
Hojbjerg is yet to start a single Premier League game for Spurs so far this season, with Ange Postecoglou primarily using the Dane as an impact substitute off the bench.
Over the last few weeks, a whole host of Italian publications have stated that Massimiliano Allegri is keen on bolstering his midfield department in January and likes the profile of the Spurs star (CalcioMercato).
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg fee may put off Juventus
Corriere Torino have now become the latest to report on the matter, stating that the Serie A giants have ‘already started’ contacts with Hojbjerg’s entourage over a January move.
It is explained that while some sources put Spurs’ asking price at €30m (£25.9m), others put it as high as €40m (£34.5m), which would be an issue for Juve.
The report adds that the Old Lady would prefer a loan but Tottenham would want any temporary deal to come with an obligation to buy since they would want to sign a midfielder in January to replace the 28-year-old.

Hojbjerg is likely to generate plenty of interest around Europe if he is put on the market. So, Tottenham will be confident of a permanent sale and would hope to recoup a minimum of £25m for the midfielder, even though he would have only 18 months left on his contract at North London.
