Rather surprisingly, Tottenham Hotspur had a former Arsenal player in the stands on Monday night as Andrey Arshavin watched the Lilywhites beat Fulham.

Whatever club you support, there can be no denying that it’s a lot of fun to watch Tottenham right now. Since Ange Postecoglou took over at the club, the side has been playing exciting, attacking football, and getting the right results, too.

Spurs returned to the top of the Premier League table thanks to a 2-0 win over Fulham on Monday night, putting them two points clear of Manchester City and Arsenal.

Goals from Heung-min Son and James Maddison sealed the win for the home side and maintained their unbeaten start to the league campaign.

The Lilywhites have a chance to go five points clear at the top on Friday night when they play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the weekend’s early kick-off.

Arshavin watched Spurs game from the home end

It’s unlikely Arshavin will attend that game, but the former Russian striker was at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier this week to watch Spurs, despite his affiliation with their fierce rivals, Arsenal.

Arshavin shared the experience on his Instagram story, travelling to the ground and taking his seat among the Spurs fans.

Of course, Arshavin enjoyed a fantastic time during his playing days at Arsenal across the other half of North London. He scored 31 goals and provided 46 assists in 144 games for the Gunners (Transfermarkt).

Funnily enough, Arshavin did admit that he once nearly joined Spurs before Arsenal swooped for him (talkSPORT).

Spurs Web Opinion

Who can blame Andrey Arshavin for wanting to go and watch the best team in London? He may have played for Arsenal but he’s clearly seen the light since he retired and he’s welcome at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium any time he wants to watch proper football.
