Sky News have revealed that Everton could be hit with a 12-point deduction as the Premier League referred the club to an independent commission after receiving their financial records.
It is explained that clubs can sustain losses of up to £105m in three years according to the league’s profitability and sustainability rules.
However, Everton are thought to have reported losses of £371.8m in the past three years, with their total losses over a five-year period amounting to £430m.

Everton are in trouble with the Premier League
The Premier League have thus referred their case to an independent commission and recommended a deduction of up to 12 points if the club are found to fall foul of the regulations.
The report adds that while the specific charge levelled against the Merseysiders are not revealed, it is thought to be linked to a tax matter concerning loans for Everton’s new Bramley Moore Dock stadium, which is now under construction.
Spurs are set to play Everton twice in short succession on December 23 and February 3 this season.

This is further evidence of how difficult it is to build a world-class stadium, which is why the likes of Chelsea and others have not been able to do what Tottenham have.
Levy and the Spurs hierarchy deserve credit for the way they ran the club sustainably and for managing to build a billion-pound stadium while keeping us competitive.
