Jamie O’Hara thinks that Thomas Frank has proven he is too good for a club like Brentford, stating that the Dane should be in charge of a larger team like Tottenham.

After struggling to get the right man in for the last few years, the Tottenham hierarchy finally seem to have stumbled on someone who is the perfect fit for Spurs in Ange Posteocglou.

The Australian has got the Lilywhites playing the kind of possession-based, attacking football that Tottenham fans have been craving since Mauricio Pochettino’s exit and has already become a huge fan favourite at the North London side, just five months on from his arrival.

Before Postecoglou’s arrival in the summer, a whole host of candidates were mooted as potential replacements for Antonio Conte at Spurs, including Frank.

In fact, talkSPORT reported back in May that the Tottenham hierarchy had been impressed by the job the 50-year-old had done at the Gtech Community Stadium, adding that the Bees were anticipating an approach for their boss from their London rivals.

Frank said at the time that while he was honoured to be linked to big jobs, he remained happy at Brentford (Bold.dk).

Should Thomas Frank now make the step up?

O’Hara believes that the Bees manager has now shown enough to warrant an approach from a club of Tottenham’s size.

The pundit told Sky Sports News about Frank: “I mean what a manager. You could see the players want to play for him. He always delivers and he has a really good side.

“Brentford aren’t one of the biggest clubs in the world. What fifth biggest club in London? Fair play to them. They rock up the Stamford Bridge. They are confident.

“But you can see. They are together. Fighting for each other. They know what it means to play for Thomas Frank and Brentford. He knows how to get the best out of players.

“What a job he has done. What a manager to play for. To be at a team like Brentford. Thomas Frank, let’s be honest, he should be at Spurs. He should be at a top club. He is a top manager. Brentford are lucky to have him. He keeps producing for them week in and week out.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not sure that Frank would have been the right fit for Spurs in the summer but there is no doubt that he is a top manager, having shown his tactical acumen as well as his man-management skills at Brentford.

The 50-year-old is one of the names that the Old Trafford hierarchy might look at if they decide to replace Erik Ten Hag over the coming weeks or months.
