Gareth Bale will be back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night for the game against Chelsea, as a special half-time guest.
Undoubtedly one of the greatest players to ever pull on the Lilywhite jersey, Gareth Bale bagged 71 goals and 58 assists in 236 appearances for Spurs across two spells at the club (Transfermarkt).
The Welshman made a big-money move to Real Madrid in 2013 and would go on to win three La Liga titles and become a five-time Champions League winner with the Spanish giants.
Bale made his way back to North London for the 2020/21 campaign, and proved he still had what it takes to compete in the Premier League, scoring 16 goals in total for Spurs to mark a triumphant return (Transfermarkt).
After a brief, but successful spell with Los Angeles FC, where he won the MLS Cup, Bale called time on his playing career in January of this year.
Gareth Bale is back at Tottenham on Monday
Bale recently told Sky Sports he is loving watching Ange Postecoglou‘s men this year as they top the table. Now, he will have a chance to see that up close.
The club has released a statement revealing Bale will be present at the Chelsea game on Monday evening as a “special guest.”
To celebrate one of the “great players of the modern era”, a half-time discussion will take place with Paul Coyte as Bale will “recall his memories” of the time he spent at Tottenham. The event has been described as “one not to miss.”

Never mind talking about his playing days, let’s get Bale on the pitch and let him torment Chelsea instead. I’m sure he’s probably enjoying his retirement, but surely one more game can’t hurt. Maybe just 45 minutes, even? I’d love to see what Ange-ball looks like with Bale in attack.
