The print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) has claimed that Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur could battle it out for the services of Kalvin Phillips in January.
The report primarily focuses on Juventus’ interest in Phillips, explaining that the player is keen to leave Manchester City in January.
It is said that the Premier League champions are willing to loan the 27-year-old out and that the former Leeds man would be in favour of a temporary switch as his priority is to get game time before next summer’s European championships.
Juventus and Spurs are both keen on Kalvin Phillips
The outlet add that Juve are growing ‘increasingly confident’ of getting a deal for Phillips over the line but they could face competition for his signature. It is alleged that Phillips ‘boasts other courtiers’ in the Premier League, including Ange Postecoglou’s side.
However, the publication asserts that Man City would prefer not to sell the England international to Spurs since the Lilywhites could potentially rival them for the title.
This is presented as an advantage for Juve, with the report also adding that Phillips is interested in moving to Italy.

Juventus’ interest in Phillips could also have an impact on the Old Lady’s pursuit of Hojbjerg as I doubt that the Serie A club would sign both players.
It will certainly not be a bad outcome for Spurs to hang on to the Dane as a squad player until the end of the season but the 28-year-old might understandably be desperate to leave in January in order to get game time.
