Alejo Veliz may only have joined Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, but he is already being courted by other clubs. Italian side Bologna are reportedly keen to take the youngster on loan.
When Harry Kane left Tottenham at the start of August, many suspected the club would make a big move to sign a ready-made replacement to help bolster the front line, which did not happen.
Instead, Ange Postecoglou has relied on Heung-min Son to lead the line, and the South Korean has done a fine job in doing so. Son has eight goals already this season across all competitions (transfermarkt), and looks to be relishing the chance to be the focal point of Tottenham’s attack.
Tottenham did end up bringing in one striker in the form of the Alejo Veliz, who has had limited game time since his arrival with his appearances coming in the form of a handful of minutes from the substitutes’ bench.
Will Alejo Veliz leave on loan?
The print edition of Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport (9/11/23) reported last week that Bologna may be interested in offering Veliz some first team action, and the same publication have followed up on this claim (14/11/23).
It is said that Veliz is of “great interest” to Bologna, with the Serie A side in need of a new striker. In fact, Bologna had previously been in talks to sign Veliz, and felt they had “practically” secured the deal earlier this year before Spurs made their move.
With Veliz “not playing” for Tottenham, it’s suggested Bologna fancy their chances of offering Veliz an opportunity. However, the report does claim Spurs may not be as keen on the idea, as they see Veliz as an important player for the future.

With our luck in terms of injuries, I would much rather keep hold of every player we can right now. So, unless we are going to sign a new striker in January, Veliz should stay put, and hopefully, he will get his chance in the first team soon.
Frustratingly, Tottenham’s exit from the Carabao Cup has limited the opportunity for some of the young talent to get the opportunity to impress, fingers crossed instead they will be able to do so in the FA Cup.
