The Sun have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are not expected to strengthen in attack during the January transfer window.

The recent reports on Tottenham’s plans for January may not fill Spurs fans with a lot of optimism.

David Ornstein remarked in a Q&A on The Athletic last week that Ange Postecoglou’s men do not have much money to spend in January, having spent the bulk of the Harry Kane fee in the summer prior to the striker’s move to Bayern Munich.

A similar update was also provided by Fabrizio Romano, who told CaughtOffside a couple of days ago that the Lilywhites will not spend ‘crazy money’ and will look for ‘market opportunities’.

Tottenham will have to be creative in January

The same information has now been reported in The Sun, who state that Spurs are not ‘flush with cash’, particularly since they failed to qualify for Europe.

The outlet asserts that the Lilywhites would have to be ‘creative’ in January and prioritise some positions over others.

The report claims that a centre-back is expected to arrive through the door but even though Tottenham have been watching the likes of Santiago Gimenez and Jota, they are unlikely to sign an attacker.

With Manor Solomon expected to be back in action in January, the North London club are allegedly expected to put off strengthening their forward line until next summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be surprised if Tottenham do not add more firepower to their attack in January, given Ivan Perisic’s injury and Richarlison’s struggles in front of goal so far this season.
