Transfer expert Graeme Bailey has said that Tottenham Hotspur are ones to watch when it comes to the race for Al-Ittihad’s Jota.

Several outlets, including Football Insider, have revealed over the last few weeks that Tottenham are on the lookout for a winger after the injuries to Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic, and have set their sights on Jota.

It has been alleged that the Premier League side are looking to sign the former Celtic man on loan, with some sources stating that the winger would be allowed to leave the Saudi club since they are over the limit of foreign players allowed (TEAMtalk).

Jot is also thought to be on Celtic’s radar, with the Scottish club believing that the player would be open to a return to Glasgow (Glasgow World).

It was reported by 90 min a couple of days ago that the winger is also on Newcastle’s wishlist but it was explained that the player would prefer to reunite with Ange Posteocglou at Spurs.

Tottenham are indeed interested in signing Jota

Bailey has now asserted that Tottenham’s interest in Jota is real and added that the North London club are also continuing to monitor Celtic’s Japanese trio Reo Hatate, Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda.

The journalist told Talking Transfers Podcast: “Jota is an interesting one. Keep an eye on him, they do like Hatate, Furuhashi and Maeda from Celtic as well, but Jota, it may be easier to go and get him from Saudi than going raiding up north in Scotland.

“Getting some of these players from Celtic would be cheaper than some of these European players, so I wouldn’t rule him out going to Celtic.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think there is any truth to the speculation linking Hatate, Furuhashi and Maeda to Spurs as that seems to be purely based on the Ange connection.

However, the Jota rumour does appear to have some legs as the story has been carried by many different outlets over recent weeks.
