TV Azteca have revealed that Napoli are now ready to submit an offer to sign rumoured Tottenham target, Sebastian Caceres.
Caceres is one of a whole host of centre-backs who have been linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks, with the North London club hierarchy said to have been impressed with the 24-year-old’s displays for Uruguay (90 min).
It has been reported by various sources over recent weeks that Club America are ready to cash in on the centre-back when the transfer window reopens (Roberto Haz).
Journalist Fernando Esquivel claimed a little over a week ago that Spurs offered £3m plus a percentage as a sell-on clause for the defender but Club America turned down the bid, with the Mexican side holding out for a fee of around £7m for the player.

Napoli enter the race for Sebastian Caceres
TV Azteca have now said that the interest in Caceres seems to be growing by the day, with clubs from England, Spain and Italy eyeing a move for the player.
The report adds that Napoli have now emerged as a contender for the centre-back’s signature and are ready to begin their assault on the player.
The publication alleges that the reigning Serie A champions are ready to make an opening offer of €5m (£4.3m) for the Uruguay international.

It is difficult to know how much of this Caceres speculation is being fed to the press by the player’s representatives and how much of it is genuine. The journalists with sources high up at Spurs have not indicated that the Uruguayan is near the top of the North London club’s centre-back wishlist.
