Troy Parrott is really hitting his stride now on loan at Excelsior Rotterdam, after bagging another goal and assist at the weekend.
It’s easy to forget, given the amount of attacking talent in the Tottenham first team and the exciting prospect of youngsters like Jamie Donley and Dane Scarlett, that Spurs actually have a young striker with a great deal of experience.
Troy Parrott has enjoyed loan spells throughout the lower tiers of English football in the past few years, but has taken his talent abroad this season in an effort to impress Ange Postecoglou.
The Spurs man has had to work hard to get his opportunity at Excelsior Rotterdam, but finally appears to have found his feet and established himself as a first-team regular now.

Troy Parrott shines on loan away from Tottenham
In his latest update for Football.London, Alasdair Gold shared how impressive Parrott has been of late, but revealed the 21-year-old couldn’t prevent his side from avoiding defeat despite his best efforts.
Gold claims Parrott has been “stepping it up to a new level” recently at Excelsior, and has “pushed himself into the starting lineup” for the Eredivisie side, with four goals and two assists in his last eight games.
A 4-2 defeat to Feyenoord at the weekend may have been a disappointing result for Excelsior, but Parrott managed to shine regardless.
He may have “missed an early chance” but Parrott “made no mistake” soon after with a fine left-footed finish. Parrott later “played a calm, clever pass” to his teammate to make it 3-2 but it was ultimately all in vain.
Spurs Web Opinion
I knew it would only be a matter of time before Parrott started showing what he can do over in Holland, and I’m very pleased for him. Of course, we have to take an Eredivisie tax into account with any praise, but it’s a strong sign that he is heading in the right direction.
