According to a report in Sky Sports Germany (as relayed by Fussball Transfers), Borussia Dortmund are now eying a move for Tottenham left-back Sergio Reguilon in January.

Reguilon had a campaign to forget last term on loan at Atletico Madrid, spending the bulk of the season on the treatment table and struggling to get game time after he eventually got fit.

However, his loan spell at Manchester United has gone much better, with the Spaniard proving an able deputy for Luke Shaw at Old Trafford, having made 10 appearances for the club so far.

Last week, Erik Ten Hag confirmed that Tottenham could call off the loan move in January and that the Red Devils would have to negotiate with the Lilywhites regarding extending the player’s stay at Old Trafford (Fabrizio Romano).

Move to Dortmund on the cards for Sergio Reguilon

Sky Germany have now revealed that Dortmund are keen on adding a left-back to their squad next month and have set their sights on Reguilon.

The report confirms that there is a break clause in the 26-year-old’s loan move to Man Utd and that the player could be tempted to move to the Bundesliga side, given that he has not had regular football at Manchester.

The publication explains that Dortmund are also monitoring Real Madrid’s Fran Garcia but Reguilon is seen as a more realistic target for the German club.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham would ideally prefer to sell Reguilon permanently rather than loaning him out again in January. The decision might eventually come down to the left-back, who would be keen on getting regular game time so that he can get his career back on track.
