Despite talk of Samuel Iling-Junior joining Tottenham going quiet over the last week or so, it seems the player himself is set on leaving Juventus in January, and Spurs are ‘considering’ an approach.
Tottenham are expected to do some business in the January transfer window, with the club rumoured to be interested in signing a new centre-back and a new winger.
Ange Postecoglou‘s plans for the latter could revolve around Samuel Iling-Junior, with the youngster looking to leave Juventus due to a lack of game time (TuttoMercatoWeb).
According to CalcioMercato, Spurs could land the 20-year-old for as little as £15.5m in January, with the Italian club keen to raise funds. Tottenham’s positive relationship with Juventus could also give them an advantage in the race to sign Iling-Junior (TuttoSport).
However, TEAMtalk have claimed several other Premier League clubs are also interested in the player, with the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle among the potential suitors for the former Chelsea winger, and Brighton ready to make a move.
Spurs still want Samuel Iling-Junior
According to TV Play, a move to Tottenham is still on the cards as the North London side are thinking about making an approach.
It is said Iling-Junior’s departure “cannot be ruled out” and the player himself is looking to find a “new adventure” away from Juventus. In light of this, Tottenham are believed to be “considering making an official bid” for their target.
The report claims Juventus could bring in “more than €20m” which, at around £17.2m, could be a higher fee than previously expected.
Spurs Web Opinion
I’ve never been convinced about this move, and with other clubs circling it seems Juventus’ asking price is creeping up. I say we move on and find a different target for the wide position, but I’m happy for Iling-Junior to prove me wrong if Postecoglou likes him.
