According to Takvim, Fenerbahce have had conversations with Eric Dier’s representatives over a potential move to Istanbul in next month’s transfer window.
Dier is currently one of Tottenham’s longest-serving players, having been at the club for nine and half years, but his career at the North London club is seemingly on the verge of ending on a whimper.
The centre-back is evidently not favoured by Ange Postecoglou, and with just six months left on his current deal, it has been suggested over recent weeks that he could potentially join AS Roma (TMW) or Sporting Lisbon (talkSPORT) in next month’s transfer window.

Fenerbahce enter race for Eric Dier
Takvim have now said that Fenerbahce have also entered the race for Dier’s signature, with the Turkish side said to be keen on strengthening their defence in the winter market and identifying the Tottenham man as a target.
In fact, it is claimed that Fenerbahçe board member Selahattin Baki has already made a trip to England to hold talks with the centre-back about a transfer.
The publication adds that Yellow Canaries intend to sign Dier for a ‘reasonable fee’ but they make no mention of how much they are ready to pay.
Spurs Web Opinion
While I am increasingly of the opinion that Dier will exit Tottenham in January, I would be quite surprised if the centre-back ended up moving to Turkey.
If a return to Sporting Lisbon is not on the cards, I expect the 29-year-old to remain in one of Europe’s top-five leagues as he is theoretically still in his peak years as a footballer.
