Journalist Paul Brown has said that Tottenham Hotspur would unlikely encounter any issues with getting Heung-min Son and Pape Matar Sarr to sign new contracts since both players are happy at the club.
Tottenham rewarded Destiny Udogie with a new contract earlier this month for his impressive performances this season, with the left-back putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal running until 2030.
It was subsequently revealed by Fabrizio Romano on The Here We Go Podcast that the North London club want to ‘keep going’ with contract extensions, with other players be offered new deals to extend their stay in N17.
Romano named Sarr as someone who is now ‘ready’ to start negotiations with the Lilywhites over a new deal having originally moved to North London from Metz back in August 2021.
A few days ago, Football Insider claimed that Spurs are also ready to offer Heung-min Son a bumper new deal and a significant pay rise to reflect his importance as club captain.
The outlet report that the 31-year-old is loving life Ange Postecoglou and wants to be a key part of the Australian’s project going forward.
Spurs could offer new deals to Son and Sarr
Brown has now said that he expects both players to commit to new deals, suggesting that it will be a massive boost to Tottenham to tie down the pair.
When asked about reports of new contracts being readied for Son and Sarr, the journalist told GiveMeSport: “They’ve both become really important players for Spurs. I don’t think anyone saw just how important Sarr would become, but Son was always going to be a key player once Kane left.
“I think being able to tie them both down long term would be a huge boost for Spurs and it doesn’t look like that’s going to be an issue, as they’re both happy there.
“You can see that under Postecoglou players are playing with a smile on their faces again and I think getting them to sign long-term won’t be an issue really.”

It can easily be seen from Son’s body language that he is now enjoying his football a lot more than he did last season, with the 31-year-old appearing to be relishing the leadership role in the wake of Harry Kane’s departure.
Sarr is certainly due a bumper pay rise to reflect his value to the side, with the midfielder coming on leaps and bounds since the start of the season and forging a solid partnership with Yves Bissouma in the middle of the park.
