Former Leeds United forward Michael Bridges has claimed that Pedro Porro has emerged as Tottenham’s standout performer over the last few weeks, crediting Ange Postecoglou for getting the best out of the Spaniard.
While Destiny Udogie on the other side of the pitch has plenty a lot of the limelight on the back of his brilliant start to his Tottenham career, his opposite number, Porro, has also showcased his class in the inverted right-back role.
The 24-year-old continues to improve as he gets a better understanding of his new role, with his technical quality coming to the fore.
The former Sporting Lisbon man has six assists to his name so far this season but what has caught fans by surprise is his contribution at the other end of the pitch, with the right-back proving to be a solid one vs one defender.
Is Pedro Porro Tottenham’s most in-form player?
Bridges admitted that he has been mightily impressed with Porro‘s performances, suggesting that his transformation is further evidence of Postecoglou’s excellent man-management skills.
The former Sunderland midfielder told Optus Sport Football Podcast: “When I look at how Spurs are playing at this moment in time, the standout performer for me, and you can talk about other players and things that are going on, is Pedro Porro.
“He has been absolutely outstanding, his stats are through the roof, the way he has transformed his game under Ange Postecoglou. It shows when you have a player with pedigree and Ange works with them and gives them a new lease of life, you can see the players love working with Postecoglou.”

Porro has been the best right-back on show in the Premier League this season. The Spain international seemingly has no weaknesses in his game and is getting better and better with each game that he plays in his new role.
For the first time since the Walker-Rose combination, it looks like Spurs now once again have the best pair of full-backs in England.
