The print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) has claimed that Atalanta will find it hard to sign Radu Dragusin since Tottenham Hotspur are now keen on securing the Genoa star’s services.
Various sources over the last week have said that Dragusin is one of the centre-backs at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist ahead of the January transfer window (Fabrizio Romano –YouTube channel).
It has emerged over the last 48 hours that although Genoa would prefer to sell the 21-year-old at the end of the season, Spurs are ramping up the pressure as they are keen on landing the centre-back next month (Primo Canale).
Tottenham are not the only ones interested in Dragusin, with some publications revealing over recent days that Atalanta are ready to challenge the Lilywhites for the player (Calciomercato.it).

Atalanta will find it difficult to beat Spurs to Dragusin
Gazzetta have now offered an update on Dragusin’s future, explaining that Tottenham remain in ‘pole position’ ahead of Atalanta for the player.
It is explained that even though the Bergamo club believe that the defender is ‘perfect’ for them, the deal will be ‘very difficult’ for them to pull off.
This is because Genoa want €25m-€30m (£21.6m-£26m) for the centre-back while the player is also ‘very popular’ among Premier League clubs, with Tottenham at the front of the queue.

The Dragusin deal seems like an easier deal to pull off than the Jean-Clair Todiobo one due to Genoa’s relatively modest asking price for the Romanian.
However, I suspect Spurs’ top preference is the Frenchman, with the Lilywhites viewing the Serie A defender as a fallback option in case negotiations with Nice proves too difficult.
