According to the Sun, Tottenham Hotspur have been told to forget about a move for talented 23-year-old English centre-back Marc Guehi.
It is no secret that Spurs are looking to reinforce their defence in January. Injuries and suspensions to Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero have shown Ange Postecoglou that he needs central defensive reinforcements.
Sky Sports stated on December 7 that Guehi is one of the three names in Postecoglou’s shortlist to bolster the defence. The Daily Mirror subsequently revealed that despite the interest, the 23-year-old might be out of Tottenham’s price range.
Football Insider revealed a couple of weeks ago that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are now both ready to call off their pursuit of Marc Guehi in January.
Tottenham told to forget a move for Guehi
The report has revealed that both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United have been told to forget about a move for Marc Guehi. Crystal Palace have no intention of selling him and would demand an exorbitant fee.
Arsenal and both Manchester clubs are said to be interested in the 23-year-old English centre-back but Chelsea have the right to match any bid as part of the deal which took him to Palace for £ 20 million.

Spurs Web Opinion
It must be said that Marc Guehi has been one of the best centre-backs in the league over the past couple of seasons. He has now established himself as a regular in Gareth Southgate’s team as well.
I don’t see Tottenham being able to sign Guehi in January. There might be a possibility of signing him in the summer but the club might be priced out considering the competition. We should forget about signing the Crystal Palace man.
