Despite Richarlison’s impressive displays over the last few weeks, Gabby Agbonlahor believes that the Brazilian is simply not good enough for a team with Tottenham’s aspirations.
Since his big-money switch to Tottenham 18 months ago, Richarlison has struggled to show the kind of form that he had previously done at Watford and Everton.
The forward has dealt with several injuries and a loss of form over the last year and half, but there are now signs that the 26-year-old has finally turned a corner.
Since returning from his groin surgery, the striker has scored four goals in three Premier League starts, displaying the kind of poachers’ instinct that he did previously at Goodison Park and for the Selecao.

Is Richarlison good enough to be Tottenham’s number 9?
Ange Postecoglou admitted following Tottenham’s 2-1 win over Everton that he was extremely pleased with Richarlison’s all-round performance, and whetted the appetite of Spurs fans by insisting there is more to come from the forward (BBCSport).
However, despite the former Everton star’s upturn in form, Agbonlahor believes that Spurs should look to upgrade on their number nine in January.
The former Aston Villa striker told talkSPORT: “Richarlison might as well come to sit next to me on a Monday night in my five-a-side, he’s not good enough, he’s not what Spurs need.”

Pundits are paid to give their opinions and Agbonlahor is allowed to express what he feels about Richarlison.
However, while it is okay to criticise the Brazilian, his comment about the Spurs man playing in his five-a-side team is quite disrespectful, and certainly not what one should be saying about a player who has been open about his mental health struggles.
