Ange Postecoglou has stated his players know what to expect from Brighton, adding that the Seagulls will look to dominate possession and press high up the pitch, just as his side will.
Spurs have been involved in some cracking games of football this season and have been the big entertainers in the Premier League.
The clash at the Amex Stadium promises to be another cracker, with both sides having scored as well as conceded a lot of goals so far this campaign.
While Roberto De Zerbi’s men come into this evening’s clash on the back of some patchy results, Tottenham are without many of their key players, with Cristian Romero being the latest to be sidelined.
Spurs could line up with Emerson Royal and Ben Davies as centre-backs but Postecoglou made it clear that his side will continue to be aggressive on the press, just like the Seagulls will.
Brighton vs Spurs could be a Christmas cracker
When asked about how his side will cope with the unique challenges that Brighton will pose, the Tottenham head coach told Football.London: “Every team in the Premier League has its challenges, they’re different challenges for sure and that is the bit you enjoy.
“There isn’t an extra layer of information you need. You certainly know how they’re going to play, sometimes it’s harder when teams are less predictable or change on a weekly basis.
“With Brighton, there is going to be a challenge in that they want to dominate the ball, we want to dominate the ball. They are going to be aggressive on the press and so are we. It is one you look forward to rather than have any trepidation about.”
Spurs Web Opinion
This game certainly has a lot of goals in it and I would personally take a draw if you offered it to me right now, following the news of Romero’s injury. However, Ange certainly would not as he will believe that his side have enough quality to emerge with three points from the South Coast.
