Ange Postecoglou has named his Tottenham Hotspur side which will take to the field in this evening’s Premier League clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.

Tottenham are looking to finish 2023 on a high as they look to secure their fourth Premier League victory in a row following the recent wins over Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Everton with just Bournemouth left to play in N17 following this fixture.

Ange Postecoglou was dealt a blow with the news of Cristian Romero‘s hamstring injury which he sustained in the 2-1 win against the Toffees and had to be withdrawn at half time, with the Australian admitting at yesterday’s pre-match press conference that he is expecting the World Cup winner to be out of action for four to five weeks.

Spurs team news vs Brighton

Postecoglou told Football.London: “It’s not so great with Romero. He had a scan the other day. He’s got a hamstring strain. So we’re looking at probably four weeks, five weeks for him. Everyone else from the last game …. yeah, it was pretty demanding physically in terms of the numbers we generated that day. Both us and Everton. It was quite extraordinary.

“So fair to say the boys were a bit fatigued but had a couple of easier days so everyone else should be OK.”

Brighton are having a tough time currently and have only won two of their past 12 league matches, averaging a point per game.

This is who takes to the field under the lights on the south coast this evening:

Brighton — Steele; Hinshelwood, van Hecke, Dunk(C), Igor Julio; Gilmour, Milner; Buonanotte, Groß, Welbeck; João Pedro.

Subs: Ferguson, Moder, Verbruggen, Dahoud, Lallana, Barrington, Baleba, Estupiñán, Baker-Boaitey

Tottenham Hotspur — Vicario; Porro, Udogie, Davies, Emerson Royal; Sarr, Højbjerg; Johnson, Kulusevski, Son(C); Richarlison.

Subs: Forster, Dier, Dorrington, Phillips, Lo Celso, Santiago, Donley, Bryan, Veliz.
