Fabrizio Romano has said that Manchester United have spoken to the representatives of rumoured Tottenham target Serhou Guirassy about a January transfer.
Guirassy has been one of the best strikers across the continent over the last 12 months and the centre-forward is just four goals behind Harry Kane in the race for the Bundesliga Golden Boot this season.
The 27-year-old has a release clause of just €17.5m (£15m) on his contract and unsurprisingly, he is thought to be on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Spurs (TEAMtalk).
Just a few days ago, The Sun reported that even though Man Utd were interested in the Guinea international, the player prefers to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over Old Trafford next month.
The outlet added that after learning about the Stuttgart star’s wish, the Red Devils were set to turn their attention to Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri instead.
United have not given up on Serhou Guirassy
However, Romano has now said that he has not heard anything about Man Utd’s interest in En-Nesyri, suggesting that Erik Ten Hag’s men are continuing to eye a deal for Guirassy.
In fact, the journalist suggested that the Manchester club have already spoken to the former Rennes star’s representatives.
Romano told CaughtOffside: “I haven’t heard anything regarding a Man Utd move for Youssef En-Nesyri as of now.
“Names I’ve mentioned in the past are Donyell Malen, Serhou Guirassy and Timo Werner because I’m aware that Man Utd spoke to their representatives. I’m also sure the race is still open and nothing has been decided.”
Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that Guirassy is available for just £15m would make him a tempting option for Spurs, particularly with Son set to travel to the Asian Cup. However, given Richarlison’s upturn in form, I would be quite surprised if Postecoglou decided that he wanted to bring the Stuttgart star through the door next month.
