With Dejan Kulusevski suspended for the game against Bournemouth on Sunday, Ange Postecoglou has been discussing the chances of Giovani Lo Celso stepping into the Spurs starting line-up.

To say that Ange Postecoglou has had to solve a few problems this season would be an understatement. The Australian has seen his Spurs squad ravaged by injuries and suspensions week in, week out, and that is not about to change any time soon.

The latest absentee will be Dejan Kulusevski, who picked up his fifth yellow card of the season during the defeat to Brighton this week. The Swede foolishly pulled the shirt of Danny Welbeck in the box, with VAR reviewing the incident and awarding Brighton a penalty.

Later in that game, Giovani Lo Celso was brought onto the field and, despite also giving away a penalty, will be a sight for sore eyes for Spurs fans who are growing concerned at the lack of squad depth for the Lilywhites now.

Postecoglou could use Lo Celso vs Bournemouth

In his latest press conference (via Football.London), Postecoglou discussed the idea of Lo Celso returning to the starting line-up for the Bournemouth game coming up at the weekend, and insisted the midfielder was never dropped from the team.

He said: “He dropped out the team because he was injured. It wasn’t by decision. He was going well when he got injured.

“We’re going to have to make another adjustment there. I thought Gio when he came on [against Brighton] was good. He was good last week when he came on. It’s good to have him back fit and available.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I thought Lo Celso was brilliant against Everton last week, to be fair. But against Brighton, it was a different story. Nevertheless, we move on, and it’s good to have him around to put into the team for the next game.
