Le Havre president Jean-Michel Roussier has confirmed that the Ligue 1 side have turned down an offer that they received for Arouna Sangante, who is alleged to be on Tottenham’s radar.
Sangante played a pivotal role in helping Le Havre win promotion to the top flight last season and the centre-back has continued to shine in Ligue 1 and is quickly emerging as one of the best young defenders in France.
The fact that he wears the captain’s armband for the club despite being just 21 years of age, demonstrates how important a player he is to Luka Elsner’s side.

Tottenham watching Arouna Sangante keenly
Football Insider reveal that Tottenham have been impressed by Sangate’s performances this season and have ‘stepped up’ their interest in the centre-back.
The report claims that the North London club have scouted the Senegalese player a number of times this season, including in his last four league matches.
Interestingly, Football Insider also spoke to Jean-Michel Roussier, who confirmed that Sangate is attracting interest from England, revealing that an offer for the centre-back has even been turned down.
The Le Havre president is quoted in the outlet as saying: “It is true we have had some interest in Sangante and mainly from English Premier League clubs. I believe as many as seven English clubs have been to watch Sangante here in Le Havre and also at away games.
“We received an offer from a club, but it was not suitable for us. In a perfect world if we receive a suitable offer in January that suits all parties, then hopefully we can have Sangante back on loan until June so he can finish the season with Le Havre.”

Apart from this claim from Football Insider, there have not been any suggestions from reputable outlets that Sangante is one of the options on Tottenham’s radar for January.
It appears as if the likes of Jean-Clair Todibo, Radu Dragusin and Lloyd Kelly are the centre-backs at the top of Postecoglou’s wishlist.
