Alan Shearer believes that Aston Villa will pip Tottenham Hotspur to a fourth-place finish this season.
After three consecutive victories, Ange Postecoglou’s men were brought crashing back down to earth at the Amex Stadium on Thursday, with Brighton running out 4-2 winners.
Postecoglou admitted that his players looked tired on the night (Football.London), which is perhaps a consequence of the fact that the Australian had to rely on the same group of players to get through a busy spell due to the whole host of injuries Spurs are dealing with.
The defeat means that Tottenham slipped out of the top four spots but it is still quite tight at the top of the table, with only six points separating the Lilywhites from league-leaders Liverpool, heading into Gameweek 20.

Will Tottenham make the Premier League top four?
Aston Villa have been the surprise package of the season so far, currently sitting in third place and Shearer believes that Unai Emery’s men will seal Champions League qualification ahead of Spurs.
When asked to predict the top four, the pundit told Amazon Prime Video Sport: “Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa. I wanted to put Newcastle in but I can’t!”

Spurs Web Opinion
There is a long way to go and there are likely to be many more twists and turns in the race for the top four spots.
While Villa seems to be the flavour of the month among the pundits at the moment, I have seen enough evidence over the last couple of weeks to believe that they do not have the staying power and will end up falling away.
