Sky reporter Dharmesh Sheth has revealed that Ange Postecoglou has made it clear to the Tottenham hierarchy that he wants reinforcements across the park, and the journalist expects the North London club to back their head coach.
Spurs are now busy making preparations for what will be Postecoglou’s second transfer window in charge.
The majority of the club’s summer recruits have been a stunning success, which will perhaps give the Tottenham hierarchy a little more confidence in the 58-year-old’s judgement.
The Telegraph’s Matt Law was the latest to report on Friday that the Lilywhites are prioritising signing a centre-back, but they also want to bring a number eight and a winger through the door.
He suggested that those incomings could ultimately depend on whether Spurs are able to get some players out of the door.
Postecoglou wants new signings across the pitch
Sheth has now also suggested that Postecoglou wants additions in all three departments and that Tottenham will look to beef up their squad over the coming weeks.
The Sky reporter told GiveMeSport: “I think every Tottenham fan, as pleased as they are with how the season has gone, the one worry that they do have is the strength of the squad and how thin that squad is.
“And I think they’ll want to back Ange Postecoglou because he’s done such a fantastic job so far. If they can get some of their long-term targets available in January, I think that Tottenham will want to go into the market.
“There’s strong interest in the Nice central defender Jean-Clair Todibo. There’s interest in strikers. There’s interest in midfielders as well, I think he wants to strengthen in all areas.”

It is quite clear that Tottenham want to bring a centre-back through the door as early as possible, with Romero’s injury making their pursuit even more urgent.
I then expect Spurs to shift their attention to Conor Gallagher, who is evidently a favourite of Postecoglou’s. I think the club might wait until the end of the transfer window to sign an attacker and study the various market opportunities that open up.
