The Mirror have revealed that Tottenham’s capture of Radu Dragusin might end West Ham United’s chances of landing Albert Gudmundsson as Genoa do not wish to lose any more of their key players this month.
A panic did set in among sections of the Spurs fan base on Tuesday when it emerged that Bayern Munich were plotting a move to hijack the Dragusin deal.
However, in the end, the 21-year-old chose to move to the North London club over the Bavarian side after reportedly having talks with Ange Postecoglou regarding his role at the Premier League side (The Times).
The Romanian’s impending arrival is a huge boost for the Lilywhites ahead of an all-important clash against Manchester United and the young defender might even be handed his debut at Old Trafford, given the injuries Spurs are dealing with.
Move could scupper West Ham’s transfer ambitions
It turns out that the arrival of Dragusin at Tottenham might also come as a major blow to the transfer hopes of their London rivals.
The Mirror explain that the Hammers have taken a close look at Gudmundsson over the last few weeks and were keen on taking him to the London Stadium.
However, it is explained that Genoa are now reluctant to sell the Icelandic star since they have already lost their best centre-back to Spurs.

For all the criticism that Levy and co have received over the last few years, some praise is now warranted as they are evidently keen to give Ange the tools he needs to succeed.
