Star Gazetesi are now reporting that Tanguy Ndombele has impressed the coaching staff at Galatasaray over recent weeks and now looks set to remain with the club.
Ndombele is currently on loan at Galatasaray until the end of the season, with the Turkish giants having the option to make the deal permanent for £12.8m.
Over the past couple of months, various outlets have reported that the Istanbul side have not been pleased with the midfielder’s professionalism and that they are considering terminating the loan mid-season (Milliyet).
A couple of days ago, Foot Mercato even suggested that the 27-year-old is keen on returning to Ligue 1 to get his career back on track.
Ndombele expected to remain in Turkey
However, according to Star Gazetesi’s latest update, Ndombele’s fortunes at Galatasaray have turned around.
The outlet says after initially ‘falling short of expectations’ earlier in the season, the midfielder has now started to convince the club’s technical staff over recent weeks that he can have a role to play.
The report states that Okan Buruk’s side have been pleased with Ndombele’s recent performances, including his display against Trabzonspor last weekend.
The publication adds that as a result of the Tottenham man’s improvement, his ‘chances of staying’ at Rams Park have ‘increased’.

With less than a week left in the transfer window, it seems unlikely that the loan agreement is going to be terminated. However, there is little chance that Galatasaray will take the option to buy Ndombele unless Spurs reduce their asking price.
