Alejo Veliz is excited about the opportunity that lies in front of him at Sevilla, assuring that he will give his all during his four-month stay at the club.
There is a lot of excitement in Argentine football surrounding Veliz on the back of his breakthrough season at Rosaria Central last term.
Even though his opportunities at Tottenham were limited during the first half of the season, the centre-forward showed enough glimpses for Spurs fans to see just why his so highly rated, with the striker netting his first goal for Lilywhites against Brighton back in December.
The 20-year-old will now be hoping to get regular minutes under his belt at Sevilla and showcase his qualities on the big stage, with the Andalusian club hoping to steer clear of relegation.
Alejo Veliz is excited to earn minutes at Sevilla
On his unveiling as a Sevilla player, the Tottenham man admitted that he is nearing full fitness and that he cannot wait to show his qualities in Spain.
Veliz said in the media presentation on Friday (as relayed by Tribal Football): “I am delighted with the institution, with the president and with those who trusted me. I come to contribute the best of myself from where I touch and do my best for the club.
“It was a long day, but the opportunity was given and it is a source of pride. I have been training well with the ball for two weeks and next week I would join the group to be at the coach’s disposal.”
When asked about the reception of his teammates, the striker stated: “I was already with the boys to interact more and I will try to contribute the best I can. Wearing the 10 is very nice and I will try to leave the best of myself.
“They are new sensations, they have received me in the best way and I am happy and proud to be here. From Tuesday I may already be on par with the entire team and then it will depend on me and what the coach has.”

A lot of Spurs fans will be keeping a close eye on Sevilla’s matches this season to see how Veliz gets on. Given that the Spanish side have struggled to score goals for much of the campaign, one would expect the 20-year-old to get plenty of game time over the next few months.
