Micky van de Ven admitted that he was left disappointed at Tottenham’s inability to hold on for a win against Everton, insisting that he and his teammates should have killed off the game.
Tottenham were largely second-best for much of the first-half, with the home side putting them under a lot of pressure, particularly from set pieces.
However, the away side found themselves with the lead at the interval thanks to two moments of quality from Richarlison on his return to Goodison Park.
Whatever Ange Postecoglou said at half-time appeared to work as Spurs gave a much better account of themselves in the second period but they were unable to put the game to bed and were hit with a sucker-punch in stoppage time as Everton equalised through another set-piece to secure a 2-2 draw.

Van de Ven looked quite aggrieved after the game, with the centre-back reiterating that the game should have been killed off and admitting that Spurs should not have given away a free-kick in the dying stages of the match in such a dangerous position.

This would have been a monumental result in the context of the season had we managed to come away with a win but it was not to be.
Truth be told, a point is probably a fair reflection of the game as there was no fluency to our game for much of the 90 minutes and Everton looked a threat every time they played the ball over the top or won a set-piece.
