Rumoured Tottenham target Roony Bardghji has been advised to carefully consider his next move, with pundits urging him to move to a division that would suit him and to a club where he would get regular game time.
Tottenham secured the services of one of the best young talents in Swedish football last month, with Lucas Bergvall set to link up with the Spurs squad ahead of the start of next season.
The Lilywhites are also thought to have their eyes on another Swedish youngster who has been turning a lot of heads with his performances in the Danish top flight.
Unlike Bergvall, Bardghji has not been capped for the Sweden national side yet but an international debut does not seem far away, with the winger having scored 11 goals across all competitions for Copenhagen this season (Transfermarkt).
It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Spurs’ scouts are keeping a close eye on the 18-year-old’s progress ahead of next summer (90 min).
In fact, the teenager himself opened the door to a move to Tottenham last week when asked about linking up with Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski at the North London club, telling Aftonbladet: “It’s fun to think about. You never know, it could happen.”
Bardghji asked to choose carefully amid Tottenham links
Bardghji’s next destination is understandably now a hot topic back in Sweden, with journalist Siavoush Fallahi of the opinion that a move to Italy or Spain would be best for the winger.
He told TV4 (as relayed by Fotbollskanalen): “He says he wants Jordan Larsson’s speed because then he wouldn’t have had to dribble, so I think Spanish and Italian football would have suited him better. Where technicality is valued more.”
Meanwhile, former Celtic defender Mikael Lustig has urged the Sweden U21 international to take an intermediate step rather than jumping straight to a big club.
When asked if Bardghji should be part of the national team, he said: “I’ve wanted him in the squad for a long time. He has shown that he can sit on the bench and says that he sees himself coming on and deciding games, which he has done. And I think the national team has been missing that.
“I hope first and foremost that he gets to play at FCK and then makes a smart choice and doesn’t go to a too-good club and get stuck on the bench.”
Finally, Swedish football expert Vicki Blomme insisted that Copenhagen could find it difficult to reject an offer from a big club for the attacker next summer.
She said: “Right now, he’s not a clear starter at FCK, you have to remember that. But the potential is enormous. If offered big money and a big club address, I think he and FCK will have a hard time saying no.”

Even though Bardghji is slightly older than Bergvall (by 10 months) and has more senior football under his belt, the winger is much more of a raw talent than the midfielder. That is why Tottenham may perhaps look to loan him out if they do manage to win the race for his signature next summer.
