Loic Bade, who previously admitted to being flattered by Tottenham’s interest, has now insisted that he is very happy at Sevilla.
Bade has impressed since his move to Sevilla back in January of 2023, with the La Liga club making the loan move permanent last summer.
The centre-back’s reputation has grown further this season, having established himself as the linchpin of the Andalusian club’s backline and the 23-year-old might now even be dreaming of breaking into the Les Blues set-up in the near future.
It was reported during the January window that Sevilla were panicking after Spurs signalled an interest in securing the former Rennes star’s services (Football 365).
While the Lilywhites seemingly did not substantiate their interest in the defender, the Frenchman admitted earlier this month that he was delighted to hear that such a big club were interested in him (Estadio Deportivo).
Loic Bade is happy at Sevilla despite Spurs links
However, Bade has now changed his tune, giving a much more diplomatic answer when asked about potentially joining the Premier League club.
When quizzed about the Spurs speculation, the centre-back has now told Estadio Deportivo (via Sport Witness): “(It’s) normal. I try to work, and I try to concentrate on the games. Then it’s football, sometimes there are teams that are interested, but we work. No, no. Better here, I’m very happy.”

Tottenham might have studied Bade as an option prior to their move for Radu Dragusin last month but now that they have acquired the Romanian, I doubt the 23-year-old would still be on their list.
If the Lilywhites do decide to sign a centre-back next summer, it will probably be a left-footed defender to cover for Micky van de Ven.
