Richarlison has revealed that he sometimes arrives at Hotspur Way grumpy, having stayed up late the previous night to catch the Brasileiro Serie A.
Richarlison has certainly not had things easy at Spurs, having struggled to live up to the £60m price tag last season and finding it hard to cope with the pressure of filling Harry Kane’s shoes in the first half of this campaign.
However, over the last few months, the 26-year-old has well and truly turned a corner, not only leading the line impressively but also showing that he can find the back of the net with regularity if he gets the right service.
Richarlison is currently out with a knee injury and Brazil boss Dorival Junior has indicated that he could be fit to feature for the Selecao during the international break next week (Globo Esporte).
Richarlison stays up late to watch Brazilian football
The Tottenham man has now been speaking to the press back in his home country about whether he stays up to date with Brazilian football.
When asked which side he supports, the former Fluminense star told Globo Esporte: “Can it be two? Fluminense or Vasco. My whole family is Vasco, I’m a tricolour because I played there, but I’m Vasco.
“This is the first time I’ve mentioned my team in Brazil. It’s those two teams and América-MG too. I follow Vasco here late at night, I arrive at the training centre so tired, sometimes angry (laughs).”
Spurs Web Opinion
I am not sure Ange and his coaching staff will be too happy to hear that Richy comes to training without adequate sleep on some days but perhaps they will not mind as long as the striker continues banging in goals.
