Tottenham Hotspur may be one of the richest clubs in world football now, but it is thought Daniel Levy is still keen to obtain ‘big money’ investment to cover the costs of the growing wage bill and transfer needs at the club.
Football Insider sources claim that Spurs want to secure ‘big money’ investment in order to compete with the clubs at the very top of the Premier League.
As per the latest information from Deloitte, Spurs are currently eighth in the world when it comes to revenue generated in the 2022/23 campaign.
Tottenham have overtaken London rivals Arsenal and Chelsea to climb the commercial ladder, and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a big part of that success.
However, with Ange Postecoglou almost a year into his big rebuild of the Spurs squad, and with a big summer ahead, there is still work to be done. And, it seems, there is money to be found to make those ambitious transfers happen, too.
Tottenham Hotspur need more money
With this in mind, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly keen to attract financial investment to cover the growing costs at the club, and could look for a bumper stadium naming rights deal to facilitate that.
That’s according to Pete O’Rourke, who was discussing the matter on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast recently, and claimed Levy has already reached out to potential investors.
The move has been made to help Spurs compete at the very top level in the Premier League, with Levy eager to increase the Lilywhites’ transfer budget.
Despite the major commercial success of Tottenham’s new stadium, the venue still needs to be paid off, and it is suggested the naming rights for the stadium could lead to the kind of “big money” injection Spurs and Levy need.
Spurs Web Opinion
I do find it difficult to believe that Spurs need more money, given the incredible commercial success of the stadium and the shrewd manner in which Levy runs the club. Mind you, the more money the better, of course, and if that happens through stadium sponsorship, so be it.
