Turkish outlet Milliyet have revealed that a host of clubs across the Premier League and Europe have now joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Galatasaray star Baris Alper Yilmaz.
Galatasaray are currently on the cusp of being crowned Turkish champions and Yilmaz’s displays are one of the reasons why, with the winger having scored seven goals and provided 12 assists across all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt).
The versatile attacker, who can play on either flank or even as a centre-forward, is allegedly thought to be attracting interest from a number of Premier League sides.
HITC revealed last month that Spurs, Man Utd and Brighton have their eyes on the 23-year-old and are considering making an offer for the attacker this summer.
Competition now heating up for Baris Alper Yilmaz
Milliyet have now said that Tottenham have also been joined in the race for Yilmaz’s signature by both Aston Villa and West Ham United.
In fact, it is alleged that all three English clubs have sent representatives to Istanbul recently to monitor the striker ahead of a potential summer move.
The publication adds that the Turkey international is now also attracting interest from France and Italy, with Juventus, AS Roma and Lille also keeping an eye on his situation.
According to the outlet, Galatasaray would be willing to let Yilmaz leave this summer but not for a fee less than €20m (£17.1m).
Spurs Web Opinion
Yilmaz’s versatility and his pace might perhaps appeal to Postecolgou but his numbers in the final third are not particularly impressive. There does not seem to be a whole lot of evidence to suggest that the 23-year-old can succeed in the best leagues in the world.
