Luka Vuskovic reflects on dream Tottenham debut after goal and assist, ‘Everything is perfect’
Luka Vuskovic has now opened up on his Tottenham Hotspur debut and how he has been settling into life in England.
Tottenham Hotspur’s first pre-season clash was a success for Thomas Frank and his new coaching staff, as Spurs beat Reading 2-0 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
The former Brentford boss showed Tottenham fans a glimpse of what they could expect, with a few tactical tweaks on display.
Frank opted to build up with a back three, with one of his full-backs pushing high and holding the width to stretch the opposition, while another was deployed as an inverted full-back, helping with build-up play.
Several Spurs stars were handed an opportunity in the clash against Reading, as the Dane rotated with two completely different elevens across both halves. The line-ups featured a good mix of first-team regulars and highly-rated youngsters.

While the first half ended goalless, the second forty-five saw Tottenham race into a 2-0 lead before the hour mark. However, at the heart of it all was Luka Vuskovic, who had only just returned from a two-year loan spell following his 2023 signing from Hadjuk Split.
The 6ft 3in centre-back grabbed an assist after rising highest in the box to flick Mohammed Kudus’ cross onto the head of Will Lankshear, who nodded home the opener.
The Croatian international made it 2-0 shortly after, finding the bottom corner after Kudus’ cut-back found him in space inside the box.
Luka Vuskovic has now opened up on what it meant to make his first appearance in a Tottenham shirt, stating that he was very happy with his debut.
He said: “I am very happy for those stats, and I am more happy that we won the game with a clean sheet and we just need to continue to be this and that is it.”
Speaking about his goal, he added: “Yes, Kudus gave me top assist and I just put it in the net. I had a bit of luck and I am very happy about it.”
Vuskovic reacts to Spurs debut and life in England
Vuskovic was further questioned on how he has found life at Tottenham, and according to the centre-back, everything has been perfect so far.
He said: “Everything is perfect, the club is behind me, the players, the staff, the coach, everyone are helping me a lot and I am really happy now and that is it.”
When asked about his first taste of English football, he continued: “I think it was a good game, it was a lot of duels, it was a lot of transitions and I think we managed it good. And again clean sheet and victory, so it is good.”
Speaking on Guglielmo Vicario being vocal in the Tottenham defence, Luka Vuskovic added: “Of course Vicario, Van de Ven beside me, it was really amazing experience. And I hope it will continue.”
He then rounded off with a word for the fans, saying: “I will see what will happen next, but I am really happy with this goal and assist, everything, and I am really happy.”
