Tottenham keen on £100m Premier League star after James Maddison blow
Tottenham are circling Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, and are weighing up a potential summer swoop, but the price tag is reportedly jaw-dropping.
Since missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White a few weeks ago, Tottenham Hotspur have yet to put in a bid for another attacking midfielder.
Tottenham fans, however, have not hesitated to name several alternative targets for the Forest man, with a whopping ten players mentioned.
James Maddison’s latest injury setback, alongside Dejan Kulusevski’s recovery, has left Tottenham threadbare in the attacking midfield position with just seven days before their first competitive match this season.
Tottenham eye Morgan Rogers transfer but Aston Villa set steep asking price
GIVEMESPORT have now shed light on what it would take if Tottenham were to lure one of their number ten targets this summer.
It is understood that Spurs have shown interest in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, a player who had a standout Premier League campaign last term, scoring eight goals and assisting 11 times.
Chelsea have also shown interest in the Villa man; however, it is believed that Aston Villa are not looking to part ways with their attacking midfielder this summer.
Villa have made it clear that Rogers is not for sale and that they are not interested in entering into negotiations with any club.
Tottenham, on the other hand, see Rogers as a great option after missing out on Morgan Gibbs-White, but if they are to force Villa’s hand, a significant offer in the region of £100 million is what would be demanded.
Spurs must replace Heung-min Son with Premier League-proven quality
Tottenham needs a global superstar, as Heung-min Son is now set to depart north London this summer, following his announcement a few days ago.
Such stars will not come cheap for Tottenham, who could be looking to spend above the £60 million they had offered for Morgan Gibbs-White if they are to land a player with a huge global following and quality on the pitch.
Morgan Rogers has shown that he can perform in the Premier League, given his impressive output last term. With Son leaving, James Maddison sidelined, and Kulusevski out, players who all managed 15-plus goal involvements, Tottenham need a player with a similar cutting edge, and Rogers fits the bill.
