How much Tottenham Hotspur earned from UEFA Super Cup final appearance
Tottenham Hotspur may have fallen short in the UEFA Super Cup final, but their participation in the showpiece brought with it some notable earnings that will still serve as a welcome boost for the club.
Tottenham Hotspur’s UEFA Super Cup final outing did not go as planned, as Thomas Frank’s side suffered a bitter 4-3 loss in a penalty shootout against Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
Regardless of the defeat, Thomas Frank still has a few positives to take from the clash, as he witnessed his Tottenham side go toe to toe with a PSG team that was formidable for most of the previous campaign.
Following the Super Cup defeat, attention will now swiftly turn to the 2025/26 campaign at large, where Tottenham are set to face sterner tests against top sides in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League.
Tottenham receive significant UEFA Super Cup earnings
Despite Tottenham suffering defeat at the hands of PSG on Wednesday night, they are still set to receive financial reimbursements for their involvement in the UEFA Super Cup.
According to reports from The Sun, Tottenham have earned £3.4 million for their participation in the UEFA Super Cup, a fee PSG also received.
However, the Parisians earned an extra £900,000 for lifting the trophy, which sees them pocket a grand total of £4.3 million.
Spurs now turn focus to the Premier League
With the Super Cup now firmly behind them, Tottenham Hotspur’s focus is set to turn to the Premier League, where they will be hoping for a much better performance compared to their previous campaign.
Last season, Tottenham finished in a disappointing 17th place, which saw them lose out on a staggering £32 million had they retained the fifth-place finish they secured in the season prior.
Position | Club | Prize Money (£m) |
---|---|---|
1st | Liverpool | 174.9 |
2nd | Arsenal | 171.5 |
3rd | Manchester City | 165.5 |
4th | Chelsea | 163.7 |
5th | Newcastle United | 160.2 |
17th | Tottenham Hotspur | 127.8 |
Thomas Frank’s task heading into the new campaign is straightforward, and that is to better the performance of his predecessor, Ange Postecoglou, and keep Spurs competitive in the league.
